Sun Power Yoga draws on various traditions including Iyengar for alignment, Ashtanga for stamina, and Sivananda for the subtle mind and breath work. I have recently started to follow Yoga in the tradition of Vanda Scaravelli – looking at the fluidity of the postures and listening to the resistence in the body to ease into a pose.

I trained in this field |

I suffered with asthma many years ago and was introduced to yoga by a good friend – it changed my life and perception of my health overnight. It only took a few months to stop using the inhaler’s I had been prescribed. Since then I have practiced fastidiously and it has become a mainstay in my life.
Now I know if ever I feel stressed, upset or uptight – I get on my mat and do yoga!
It works so quickly to change the chemical balance of your mind, by focussing on the breath my mind is instantly detached and at one with the movement of my body….. simple techniques and completely natural. If all anyone did was to learn to meditate and use the yoga breath then this in itself would make a difference, incorporating simple postures into your routine makes it a lifelong companion. Yoga can transform you physically and mentally its up to the individual how much they want to incorporate it into their life.
